Cleaning
Because of the natural composition of the Bamboo EcoStraw, and the fact that they are made from natural bamboo stalks, and not compressed or processed, each one will need washing before first use. If there is any pith on the inside of a straw, it can be brushed out and then washed. Pith is totally natural and edible so should not cause concern.
Our natural Bamboo EcoStraws can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Using the brush included with your set, clean the interior and then air dry on a dishrack. Repeat this action after each use. They can also be placed in your dishwasher. Being a natural product however, we would recommend washing by hand where possible to prolong their life.
If a deeper clean is desirable, we recommend boiling your Bamboo EcoStraws with a water and vinegar solution for 10 minutes on low heat, then carefully removing the EcoStraws and placing them to dry on a dishrack.
Once they’ve been used to their fullest, you can simply toss them into the compost bin, as these straws are completely natural and biodegradable.

I don’t like the sensation of metal straws hitting off my teeth 😱 They arrived very quickly after ordering and I love them, they came with cleaning brushes and a cute little pouch for storage. These are great!! we are currently trying to go waste-free and these are a must have ! Perfect for on the go, they come with a cloth pouch. You can take them with so you can refuse the plastic straws if you go out to eat. The good thing about bamboo is it’s easy to clean and lasts a long time. I recommend not sticking these in the dishwasher, just use soap and warm water to rinse them out. I wanted a plastic alternative, and these fit the bill. I am very happy with the purchase.
